Classic Fluffernutter Sandwich

Ahh the fluffernutter.  I would take this over peanut butter and jelly any day.  This has been a favorite of mine since longer than I can remember.  But what's better than a fluffernutter?  Well..my ultimateTriple Decker Nutella Banana Fluffernutter (found here) is just as amazing...or hot flutternutter.  It's just your classic peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich, but it's nuked in the microwave for a couple seconds to get it warm and gooey and insanely delicious.  You know when you have an ice cream cone and you're standing under the sun and it melts and you have to lick it off really fast?  That's what's probably gonna happen with this sandwich after you microwave it.  The melty marshmallow and peanut butter will ooze out of the center of the sandwich...but it just makes it even more exciting to eat(:  If you've never had a flutternutter, make this sandwich. You haven't lived until you've had one.  But just a warning: you may never go back to peanut butter and jelly again.

Ingredients:
2 slices of bread (white is best)
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2-3 tablespoons marshmallow fluff (depending how sweet you like it)

Directions

  1. Spread the peanut butter onto one slice of bread. Spread the marshmallow creme onto the other slice. Place the bread topping-side-up onto a microwave-safe plate. Cook in the microwave on High for 30 seconds. Place the two halves together and serve.

S'mores Toast/Sandwich

I think this is my best toast creation yet!!! It's even better than s'mores.  It's everything you love about s'mores, but on a piece of toast.  I guess you could say it's healthier - kind of...I did make mine on whole wheat bread...and nutella is all natural, so I guess that makes it healthy, right?  Broiling the marshmallows really makes them taste exactly like they would roasting them over a fire.  The outside gets brown and slightly crispy, and the inside is warm and gooey and oh so delicious!  Just watch very closely when broiling it because it will brown really quickly.  I caught mine just in the nick of time...and I like mine pretty toasty brown.  I wasn't sure whether to use marshmallows or fluff, so I decided to use both(:  I think the fluff tasted better, but it was SO hard to put on top of the nutella/graham cracker layer smoothly, so I just ended up blobbing it on. The marshmallows browned faster than the fluff, so the toast looked kind of funny, but I'm telling you: it was the best toast I've ever had!

Ingredients:
1 slice of bread ***
1-2 tablespoons nutella
3 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
handful of marshmallows and/or a few spoon fulls of marshmallow fluff

Instructions:
1. Set oven to broil.
2.  While oven is broiling, toast bread.  Spread nutella immediately over hot toast.  Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs, and then marshmallows and/or plop on fluff.
3.  Place toast in a small, ungreased pan.  Broil the toast until marshmallows brown (watch closely to prevent burning because they brown very fast!)
4.  Remove toast from pan and enjoy.

*** If making a sandwich, add a piece of toast on top of the toasted marshmallows after broiling, and add another tablespoon of nutella to that slice.

S'mores Cake

I was a little skeptical before making this cake.  It's basically a yellow cake, but instead of flour, it uses graham cracker crumbs.  I was worried it would be too salty and too grainy, but it turned out sooo delicious! I made it with my friend when she slept over at my house, and just the two of us ate half of it in one sitting.  The graham cracker cake is so moist and has way more flavor than a - in my opinion - boring, yellow cake. The chocolate layer gives the richness, and the marshmallow layer allows the entire bite to just melt in your mouth.  If you are a s'mores fan, then I'm 100% positive you'll be a huge fan of this cake as well.

*If you like peanut butter on your s'mores, you're more than welcome to add a peanut butter frosting or a peanut butter drizzle in between and/or on top the layers(:

Yield: Serves 8-10
(1 9-inch cake)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
3 large egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 20)
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
3 large egg whites, room temperature

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375F. Lightly grease two 9-inch cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla extract.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together graham cracker crumbs, baking powder, salt. Working in two or three additions, alternate stirring the graham cracker mixture and the milk into the butter mixture.
4. Beat egg whites to soft peaks in a clean, medium-sized bowl. Working in 2 or three additions, fold egg whites into graham cracker mixture, mixing until no streaks of white remain.
5. Divide evenly into prepared pans.
6. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Let cakes cool in pans for 3 minutes, then invert onto wire racks to cool completely before assembling.

Marshmallow Filling and Chocolate Sauce
Ingredients:

1 7-oz jar marshmallow creme
8-oz milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp corn syrup

Instructions:
1. In a medium, microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate, milk, butter and corn syrup until melted.
2. Stir with a whisk to ensure that everything comes together smoothly. Continue to assemble cake once the sauce is prepared.

To assemble:
1. Place one layer of cake on a serving platter. Spread about 1/2 cup of the chocolate sauce onto the cake, then spread the marshmallow creme into an even layer.
2.Top marshmallow layer with second cake round, then pour remaining frosting over the top, spreading it evenly and allowing it to drizzle down the sides of the cake.
Cake will set up quickly, and should be stored in the refrigerator if not being served shortly after being assembled.

Triple Decker Nutella, Banana, & Flutternutter Sandwich

who knew that one sandwich could contain.....

peanut butter...

bananas...

nutella...

AND marshmallow fluff?

Ohh yess..it truly is as good as it sounds...and as good as it looks.

Today, I created the ultimate sandwich.
peanut butter + banana + nutella + marshmallow fluff = the best sandwich in the entire universe.
Especially if you're a chocolate peanut butter fanatic - like me. You know how Elvis is famous for his peanut butter and banana sandwich? Well, I'm almost certain that I'll be famous for this sandwich in a couple years.   I'm also a huge fan of the fluffernutter (peanut butter and marshmallow fluff).  This triple decker sandwich is the fluffernutter sandwich combined with my second favorite sandwich: nutella and banana.
it just doesn't get better than that.
My lunch table was beyond jealous.

Guard this recipe [with your life]:

Ingredients:
2 slices of bread
1/2 a banana, sliced
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon nutella
1 tablespoon marshmallow fluff

*you can double it if you have a pretty big appetite, but most people would find half to be a pretty good size.

Instructions:
1. Cut the bread slices in half.  You will have 1 half left over that won't be needed.
2. Place the sliced bananas on one half. Spread the peanut butter over a separate half and place it against the slice with the sliced bananas, making a peanut butter and banana (half) sandwich.
3. On the top of the slice where you spread the peanut butter, spread the nutella.
4. On the 3rd bread slice, spread the marshmallow fluff.  Place this against the nutella bread slice, so that the marshmallow side goes against the nutella.

Helpful tip: to make it even more gooier, try toasting it.
